Autumn Gathering’

As a chill in the air is sensed and the deciduous leaves burst forth in a magnificent cornucopia of dazzling colour, one tiny nuthatch takes up his famous position on the tree trunk while his companion settles on a branch. Both await the arrival of the cooler season as they ponder their next move…

Growing up in the country, surrounding by acres of woodlands and streams, the White-breasted Nuthatch was a constant visitor to the feeding stations that my parents lovingly attended to with great pleasure. Watching the antics of these tenacious little beauties brought joy to all who had the privilege to view the blue beauties so closely.
